Since Amazon does not have a price match policy, per se, it's worth asking a customer service agent about your issue. They are not required to give you a refund or credit on the difference, but an agent may be willing to help in some way.

Except for books, Amazon will only display a List Price if the product was purchased by customers on Amazon or offered by other retailers at or above the List Price in the past 90 days for non-seasonal products (like TVs and headphones) and in the past 180 days for seasonal products (like ski jackets and shoes).

Any single product or multiple products packages must have a price that is equal to or lower than the price of the same item being sold by the seller on other sites or virtual marketplaces. This applies to both the individual product price as well as the collective price that the item or items are being sold for.

For every $1 of employee contribution you make (up to 4% of your eligible pay), Amazon will contribute an additional $0.50 to your account in the form of matching contributions. You can get up to a 2% match.

The first is whether or not Walmart will match the price of competitors. Unfortunately, for those in the above example asking "Does Walmart price match Amazon?" or "Does Walmart price match Target?", the answer is no. Walmart does not match the prices of any of its competitors.

In many cases, the retailer will refund the difference of what you paid vs. the sale price, as long as your purchase was within a specified time—often 14 days. If they can't or won't refund to the original form of payment, you may be issued a store credit.

Amazon doesn't offer price matching, but most products purchased from the site can be returned free within 30 days of receiving them. So if the Prime Day price on something you bought in the last month is significantly lower, it might be worth your time to purchase it again and send back the first one.

The most common strategy employed by beginning sellers looking for a healthy ROI on Amazon is to look for items that can sell for triple what you pay for them. This is often called the “3 times rule” or the “3X rule” and in general creates a 100% return on investment.

Reference Prices

If you provide a reference price, Amazon requires it to be a price at which you or other sellers have recently made substantial sales of the item. Reference prices provided to Amazon must stay current. If Amazon cannot verify your provided reference price, it may be suppressed.

Amazon establishes a competitive price threshold (CPT) based on prices from other retailers. Your price could be the lowest on Amazon, but if it's higher than a customer could find from another retailer (factoring in both the product price and shipping cost), Amazon may suppress the Buy Box.
