The Clone Wars was devastating for many and caused three years of non-stop fighting throughout the galaxy. However, it was a losing battle from the start, as the Republic outnumbered the Separatists' worlds by a huge amount.

Separatist worlds believed that the Republic's corruption left it damaged beyond repair and that a new government was needed. In truth, the Separatists were led by both the Sith and a cabal of the galaxy's most unethical corporations, making the CIS far more corrupt than the Republic.

Sidious then issued Order 66 to his clone army. On planets across the galaxy, clone troopers turned their guns on their Jedi commanders, decimating the Order. Sidious sent Skywalker to Mustafar, where he slaughtered the members of the Separatist Council. The Separatist Alliance was defeated and the war was over.
