The Chicago Bears open the 2024 NFL season against the Tennessee Titans, where they'll be looking to kick off the Caleb Williams era with a resounding victory.
The Bears are coming off a 7-10 season, where they showed promise in a strong close to the 2023 season. But it was an eventful 2024 offseason, which included the additions of Williams, receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, running back D'Andre Swift and safety Kevin Byard, that has set the tone for what's already a hyped 2024 campaign.
Chicago will be facing a Titans squad also coming off a 7-10 season and with changes along the roster, including the additions of receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, linebacker Ernest Jones and head coach Brian Callahan.

Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson gets pick-6 of Will Levis
Chicago's defense has come up huge in the second half, holding Tennessee scoreless. After recording a strip-sack of Will Levis on the previous series, which led to a Cairo Santos field goal, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson intercepted an ill-advised Levis pass and returned it 43 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. Chicago had a successful two-point conversion -- Caleb Williams to D'Andre Swift -- to take a one touchdown lead. Bears 24, Titans 17
Cairo Santos connects on his third field goal
Santos continues to be Chicago's best offense. After the Bears defense recorded a strip sack on Will Levis, the offense got the ball on the Tennessee 30-yard line. Unfortunately, Chicago's offense couldn't move the ball. The veteran kicker connected on a 48-yard field goal to bring the Bears to within one point. Titans 17, Bears 16
Bears WR Keenan Allen injured
Allen was injured after the Bears' latest scoring drive that resulted in a Cairo Santos field goal. He appeared to reaggravate a heel injury that had him questionable heading into the season opener. Allen is headed to the medical tent. He remained there on the ensuing offensive possession. Updates to come.

After another three-and-out, the Bears offense responded with 11-play, 44-yard scoring drive that resulted in a 50-yard field goal by Cairo Santos. Chicago's offense has yet to score a touchdown on the day. Titans 17, Bears 13
Bears block punt, score touchdown to get within one score
Chicago's defense came up with a huge stop against Tennessee's offense after the Bears offense went three-and-out to open the third quarter. But it was the special teams that capitalized when defensive end Daniel Hardy blocked a Ryan Stonehouse punt that was recovered by safety Jonathan Owens and returned 21 yards for a touchdown. Bears stall inside the 10-yard line, settle for field goal
Chicago finally got on the board after being shutout for most of the first half. The Bears had an encouraging drive stalled in the red zone after Keenan Allen dropped a perfectly-placed touchdown pass in the end zone on second-and-goal. The following play, center Coleman Shelton was once again blown up and Chicago was forced to settle for a field goal. Titans 17, Bears 14
Titans take two-possession lead in second quarter
After forcing a Bears punt, the Titans responded with their third consecutive scoring drive to take a two-possession lead. Tennessee marched down the field in 14 plays on a 73-yard scoring drive, which culminated in a Will Levis to Chigoziem Okonkwo 17-yard touchdown. Titans 17, Bears 0
Titans score field goal off Bears turnover

Bears RB Velus Jones muffs kickoff return
After the Titans took an early 7-0 lead, Bears kickoff returner Velus Jones Jr. handed the ball right back. He muffed a kickoff return and then kicked it right to the Titans, who recovered it at Chicago's 23-yard line. Luckily, the Bears defense was able to keep Tennessee out of the end zone.
Titans RB Tony Pollard finds the end zone for first touchdown
After back-to-back three-and-outs to open the game, Tennessee's offense marched down the field in eight plays on a 79-yard scoring drive that culminated with a 26-yard rushing touchdown by running back Tony Pollard to give them an early lead. Titans 7, Bears 0
Scoreless in the first quarter
The Bears and Titans defenses have started out strong on their first two series. Chicago forced Tennessee's offense to back-to-back three-and-outs. Meanwhile, the Titans defense forced the Bears to a three-and-out on the opening possession and later came up with a big stop that forced Chicago to punt on fourth-and-30.

All eyes will be on Caleb Williams in his first NFL start, but he won't be asked to do too much. This game will ultimately come down to Chicago's defense vs. Tennessee's offense, where the Bears have the clear advantage.
